Shining Star Block - RBD Block Challenge, Block 2

It is week two of the RBD Block Challenge.

This cute second block is the Shining Star Block, which was designed by Bev McCullough from Flamingo Toes

This week I practised my fussy cutting again with these adorable swans from the Pemblery fabric collection from Citrus and Mint

So this year I am trying to use my fabric stash.

Yes, for those of you that follow me on instagram, this might be hard to believe but yes I am trying to use my stash. And so far, I am doing pretty well.

For this Block two, the Shining Star Block, I used the following fabrics;

Fabric selection for Block 2 made by Dotty and Grace

A - Pemberley Lake in Blue by Rachel from Citrus and Mint Designs

B - Sugarhouse Park Green Medallion by Amy Smart from Diary of a Quilter

C - Sugarhouse Park Posey in Aqua by Amy Smart from Diary of a Quilter

D - Kona Cotton White

Here are some more details about the Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge.

This year Riley Blake Design is hosting their block challenge again.

And each block is part of the Riley Blake Design Mystery Quilt.

Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge 2021

The challenge will have 16 blocks. The blocks are designed by the Riley Blake designers. Each Tuesday of the month a new block will be revealed, except for the last week of the month when it is a catch up week. The blocks for the project will work together to make a quilt sampler at the end of the 16 weeks.

The project will be running from 2nd February until 22nd June, so a great pace to join in at anytime.
