Easy Quilt-As-You-Go Christmas Tree Skirt
Another year, another christmas tree skirt!!
This one was super fun, fast and easy using this Missouri Star Quilt Company template. This hexagon quilt template by MSQC uses a quilt-as-you-go technique developed by Daisy & Grace. The template is a 2.5" hexagon with a two piece design. This makes it so simple - because it has the template for the backing fabric, batting and template for the top fabric.
As soon as I had watched the tutorial from Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company, I just knew I wanted to create a quilt using the hexagon template but with a list of quilts to finish, I had put it on the back burner.
Then with Christmas fast approaching this year, of course I had left my Christmas sewing until the last minute, so I needed a fast project and I remembered the Christmas Tree skirt from this tutorial.
If you are looking at doing a project with the hexagon quilt-as-you-go template, I would recommend watching the tutorial. Natalie gives some great hints on cutting techniques which made cutting the background fabrics and batting really easy. In the video tutorial there is also a link to the project sheet with 6 different project suggestions, so lots of inspiration. I cannot wait to make another quilt-as-you-go Hexagon project.
